Celebrating Diamond Jubilee of Barauni Refinery: A legacy of Excellence and Innovation
Barauni Refinery (BR), a beacon of resilience and innovation, celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on January 15, 2025, marking 60 glorious years of energising the nation and fostering regional development. The milestone event was graced by Mr A S Sahney, Chairman, IndianOil, as the Chief Guest, along with Mr Arvind Kumar, Director (Refineries) and Mr Manoj Kumar, Postmaster General, East Region, Bihar, as Guests of Honour. Other dignitaries included Mr Satya Prakash, ED & RH, BR; Mr Subhajit Sarkar, ED (Operations), Refineries Headquarters (RHQ); Mr Sanjeev Pranay Singh, ED I/c (M&I); Mr Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, ED & SH, Bihar State Office. Senior officials from IndianOil’s Corporate Office, RHQ and BR, along with representatives from the recognised union and Barauni Refinery Officers’ Association, also attended the historic occasion. The event featured a special video message from Mr Hardeep S Puri, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, whose inspiring words set the tone for the celebration. He said, “The Barauni Refinery is a spectacular story of India’s stellar growth in the refining sector over the years. Since its inception on January 15, 1965, Barauni Refinery has been one of the pioneering refineries in India, playing a vital role in ensuring the country’s energy security. The refinery’s impressive evolution from an initial capacity of 1 MMTPA to the current capacity of 6 MMTPA demonstrates its steadfast commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.”
